Most project managers recognize Microsoft Office Share Point Server 2007 (MOSS) as a powerful application that can help organizations collaborate internally and manage content. In this class, we will take this knowledge further and demonstrate how project managers can use MOSS as a tool to manage a portfolio of projects with minimal customization. We will walk through how MOSS can be effectively used to manage common project management tasks such as managing processes, communication, risks and scope within a project. The presentation will also demonstrate the ability to create individual collaboration websites for projects based on pre-defined methodology templates, the ability to manage workflows, lists, surveys, roles and permissions etc. that can boost productivity of project managers and teams.

Many businesses struggle with monitoring company strategies due to unstructured and disparate data lying outside their enterprise-reporting tool. This presentation will provide an overview of how to use PerformancePoint Server 2007 to incorporate this data into company reports and analytics and forecasting based on company performance.
This class will focus on tools and techniques for the pragmatic project manager. Most project managers understand the need for processes and the different groups as defined by the PMBOK. In this class we will take this knowledge one step further and attempt to map the theoretical aspects of project management to practical everyday processes and the necessary tools to effectively manage projects. In addition, we will investigate the practical limitations of communication between stakeholders on a project and the methods used by pragmatic project managers to overcome these limitations.
