Product Selection 

At CTS, we always try to help you choose the right product to solve your problem.  In order to do this we must understand the issues surrounding a problem.  After we have determined the high-level functional requirements of the business processes, the priority of the requirements, and whether any additional functional requirements are needed or desired, we will develop a final recommendation.

Opportunity

There are many decisions that must be made in order to select the correct product to solve an IT problem. Some of the factors that CTS considers when selecting a product are customer preferences, installation base, the maturity of the product, the financial strength of the vendor, customization requirements, the integration capabilities, and how difficult the product is to support. These factors play an important role in CTS’s plan.


Approach

In order to make sure that we are recommending the correct product to suit your needs CTS will review your existing documentation.  We also conduct JAD sessions with the business process owners to determine the state of the current processes and identify opportunities for improvement. Once these meetings are complete, CTS will help you optimize your business process and explore the expectations for the product. Also a consideration in this process is any future data conversion that will need to happen to make any historical information work with the new product.

For each product selected for comparison, CTS will determine to what degree the product satisfies the functional requirements identified in Preliminary SRS. The products will be rated as supporting each requirement by the following criteria: Fully Supported, Supported with Customization, Currently under Development, Not Supported. CTS will then develop a short list of vendors to whom the RFP should be submitted.

We will also develop a Lifecycle Cost Estimate for the solution.  This estimate will include all implementation and post-implementation costs as well as vendor, hardware, licensing, infrastructure, and client resource costs required to implement, operate, and support this solution. 

CTS will confer with the client to identify what tangible and intangible benefits the client will receive through the implementation of the selected product.  Then, CTS will forecast what Return on Investment (ROI) the client can expect from the realization of these benefits.  Lastly, CTS and the client will develop metrics that can be used to determine whether the ROI is being realized.

Once all of these steps have been completed CTS will recommend a product to be the solution to your IT problem.
