McWane Science Center's 'Science of Swish' explores shooting the perfect basket

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- Sinking a free throw can seem like an exact science. A new exhibit at McWane Science Center proves it.

Science of Swish opens Oct. 22 at the center, occupying the corner of the building near the old Loveman's display windows. It will resemble an arcade free throw game, but two Alabama-based companies created it to teach complicated principles of math and science in a fun, innovative way.
